Deft

Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Deft. Using the service means you accept them. Where your organisation has signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement governs and these terms fill the gaps.

Section 1

Who this is between

“We” and “Deft” mean [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. “You” means the person using the service. If you use Deft through your employer, “your organisation” means that employer, and some settings described here are theirs to control rather than yours.

You must be at least 16 and able to enter a contract in your jurisdiction.

Section 2

Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep them current.
  • Your credentials are yours alone. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has them.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account, except where it results from our own failure.
Section 3

Organisation accounts

When your organisation provides Deft, its administrators can invite and remove members, manage seats, configure integrations, and see the analytics described in our Privacy page.

What administrators cannot do

No administrator setting reveals the content of your prompts or your Deft conversations. Individual-level analytics stay off unless an administrator enables them and you separately opt in.

If your organisation’s access ends, your access through it ends too, and we may delete or return organisation data as that agreement directs.

Section 4

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • Break the law, or use Deft to harm, harass, or deceive anyone.
  • Put credentials, payment card data, health records, or other sensitive personal information of third parties into the service.
  • Try to defeat access controls, reach another organisation’s data, or probe the service without written permission. Coordinated security testing is welcome — see Security.
  • Resell or redistribute the service, or use it to build a competing product.
  • Ignore the usage limits of the AI providers behind the service, or use Deft to evade their terms.

We may suspend accounts that put the service or other customers at risk. Where circumstances allow, we tell you first.

Section 5

AI output

Deft routes to third-party AI models and generates coaching suggestions. Model output can be wrong, outdated, or confidently mistaken.

Read this one properly

Do not treat anything Deft produces as legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Check anything you intend to rely on. You remain responsible for what you do with the output.

As between you and us, you keep the rights to what you put in and what comes back out. Third-party model providers have their own terms for traffic that reaches them, particularly where you supply your own provider key.

Section 6

Our intellectual property

The service, its interface, and the underlying software remain ours. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Deft while your account is active, and nothing more.

Feedback you send us can be used to improve the product without obligation to you, though we will not identify you as its source without asking.

Section 7

Fees

Paid plans, pilots, and deployment engagements are priced in a separate written agreement or order form, which sets the fees, the term, and any notice needed to cancel. Unless that document says otherwise, fees are non-refundable once the period they cover has started.

Section 8

Ending it

You can stop using Deft and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access if you materially break these terms and do not fix it within 14 days of us telling you, or immediately where the breach is causing harm.

Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive termination.

Section 9

Disclaimers and liability

Deft is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its suggestions will produce any particular result. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. Where that is true for you, they apply only as far as permitted.

Section 10

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY], without regard to conflict of law rules.

We may update these terms. Material changes are notified in the app or by email before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use Deft after that means you accept the new version.
